Notice Mr. Scarecrow in the background? Oops. I'm thinking he is not properly dressed for the snow and ice we got last night and today. It was a snow day today. For me, too. I don't really like admitting defeat to snow and ice, but regardless, it gave me an opportunity to finish a few Christmas presents.
Mittens for my daughter's best friend, Alycia.
I used the pattern from the Knitting for Peace book. Three pairs of mittens later, I can say with confidence that I have the pattern mostly memorized. They go very quickly, which is good, since I have at least two more pair to complete before Christmas. The yarn I used was I Love This Wool from Hobby Lobby. It was really nice to work with and I will definitely use it again. My son needs a new hat, so I have every intention of using the I Love This Wool for that purpose -- just as soon as I finish my Christmas knitting, that is.
The other Christmas presents I completed:
These are from the SnoBuddies pattern, which is a Knitting at Knoon pattern. Aren't they adorable?! The pattern is very well written and easy to follow. I used Peruvia by Berrocco, which is what the pattern recommends. The SnoBuddie on the right is a little taller because I was not paying attention. Oops. But SnoBuddies don't all have to be the same height, right? :-)

Adorable snowmen! And the mittens look great!
